The hotel is situated at the foot of Table Mountain and surrounded by a lush tropical garden. It is one of the most elegant hotels in Cape Town, famous for its history, traditions and of course luxury.

Since opening in 1899., The hotel was a place where wealthy travelers would stop, the aristocracy (including the Prince of Wales), and those who came to Cape Town in search of fame and fortune. For more than 100 years of its existence, the hotel passed numerous upgrades to meet the most sophisticated tastes of the most discerning guests. In the 50’s they built the first heated swimming pool on the African continent.

Today, Mount Nelson combines over 100 years of tradition with the requirements of modernity expressed by the extensive facilities, among others, the latest transportation systems, the new business center, spa, sports center with tennis courts and swimming pools. Despite the spirit of tradition still reigns in Mount Nelson, and as for the colonial period, every afternoon is the traditional time drinking tea and guests can take an unforgettable walk through the gardens in the company of the chief gardener.

The entire hotel complex consists of six wings, each of which has its own individual character and private gardens. The hotel offers two types of rooms: Superior and Luxury, luxury, and spacious suites.
