ECUADOR GALAPAGOS, 13 DAYS

Day 1. Quito
Upon arrival at the airport in Quito, you will be greeted and driven back to the hotel. Overnight in Casa Gangotena.

Day 2. The Spirit of the Andes Express
An unusual expedition through The Andes by Express train in the region of the Andes in Ecuador, with accommodation in traditional houses. 3-day journey along the “Avenue of the Volcanoes” – from Quito to beautiful Cuenca in the south, you will experience the beauty of the Andes and Ecuador, but also the culture of this region, because along the way you will meet many natives. Throughout the trip guests will be provided with three meals a day. The journey begins in Quito, the train will move to the south. The first stop will be Sangolqui, where there are typical Andean markets and fairs – it will be a great introduction to know the culture of this area. Above the town, on the eastern side, rising to a height of 5,897 m. above sea level is the impressive volcano Cotopaxi. You will eat lunch in a local restaurant, while dinner and overnight will be in Riobamba.

Day 3.
The next morning, after an early breakfast, drive to the small town of Alausi, visiting the “heart” of the Ecuadorian railway company. On this day an impressive spectacle awaits it’s guests. It runs at a height of over 800 meters! It is called “Devil’s Nose”. Guests will also visit the local museum, showing the life and crafts people in the region. The journey continues to the south, the stronghold of the Incas. Arrive in Cuenca at dusk for dinner and overnight.

Day 4.
On the last day the train completes the course in Cuenca, the third largest city in Ecuador, located in the mountainous valley of the Andes. Because of the historic buildings, downtown Cuenca is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Red roofs, cobbled streets make it a charming place. Sightseeing: St. Sebastian square, a market with products of local crafts, modern art museum and a floral bazaar. You also can not leave without visiting such places as the Court of Justice of the City Palace or the governor’s palace. Then the guests will travel along the river Tomebamba to admire the houses on the bank and visit the factory of the famous straw hats. Lunch at one of the excellent restaurants in Cuenca. Day 5. Ingapirca
On this day we invite you on a fascinating trip to Ingapirca – the northernmost located stronghold of the Incas. It is located at an altitude of about 3,200 meters above sea level on the way to Ingapirca guests will visit the town Canar and the local market. After the tour dinner at a local inn and sightseeing Tambo Coyoctor – stone ruins. In the late afternoon return to Cuenca.

Day 6 Cuenca

Day 7. El Cajas National Park

Day 8 Galapagos Islands
Transportation from the hotel to the airport and flight to the Galapagos Islands, the Baltra airport. There you will begin a 5-day cruise around the islands on the Yacht Isabela II. During the trip guests will be provided three meals a day.

Galapagos Islands – belonging to the Ecuadorian archipelago of volcanic origin in the Pacific Ocean. They lie on the equator, about 960 km. west of the coast of South America. The archipelago consists of 19 islands, islets and single rocks with a total area of ​​7,994 square kilometers, scattered in an area of ​​59.5 thousand. sq. km. The oldest islands are about 4 million years old, and the youngest are still in the process of formation. The Galapagos Islands archipelago is one of the most active volcanic regions in the world. Born from the sea and never had any link with the continent. The archipelago is inhabited by 26,640 people.

Landing in Baltry, you will begin the trip. Then a short cruise and you will be on the island of Santa Cruz. There you will visit the famous turtle reserve the Tortoise. On this island lives one of the largest populations of sea turtles in the world. On the reserve there is unique vegetation and many species of beautiful, exotic birds which do not occur anywhere else in the world. After lunch at a local restaurant, drive to Puero Ayora, on the south Santa Cruz. The next stage of the tour will be visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station, where you will be able to see how it helps the giant tortoises and what tests are carried out on these fascinating animals. At the end of the day we suggest a walk around the charming town of Puerto Ayora. Accommodation on the yacht Isabela II. On board welcome cocktail and dinner.

Day 9 Galapagos Islands
Docking a boat in the Post Office Bay. More than two centuries ago, pirates, whalers and residents would leave in the bay news, a local mail function, hence it’s name. On this day, we offer a cruise through the labyrinth of canals on the north shore of the island of Floreana where you can meet colonies of sea lions, turtles and penguins. Day 10 Galapagos Islands
In the morning guests will venture on a trip to Punta Suarez, where you can take a walk on the solidified lava, see the great colonies of seabirds, including albatrosses, as well as hawks and finches. There are also a lot of marine iguanas. After a trip back to the boat for lunch. Then the guests will go towards Gardner bay (on the other side of the island). Free time which can be can be used for snorkeling, kayaking, walking on the beach, looking for sea lions or just relaxing on the sunny coast. In the evening, dinner on the yacht.

Day 11 Galapagos Islands
