Select the most magical journey on the most luxurious train in the world “Pride of Africa”. Discover the most beautiful places in Africa, while enjoying the nostalgic atmosphere of the romantic 1920s of the last century. The route of the expedition Cape Town – Dar es Salaam leads by South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania and a length of 6100 km! This unique safari is designed for travelers who want to get a taste of African adventure in an atmosphere of true luxury and safety. Sample journey:

Day 1. Cape Town
Adventure of the most luxurious train in the world will start in the morning from the train station in Cape Town. Late in the afternoon they will take you to the Victorian village of Matjiesfontein, where you will rest and see antique cars and carriages. Back to the dinner train and continue your journey. Overnight on board the train.

Day 2. Kimberley
In the afternoon, the train reaches the Kimberley, the city once called New Rush (“New Heat”), originally small diamonds could be found in the river Oranje. Located there many years ago inside the hill lay more diamonds, but under the blows of pickaxes hundreds of prospectors soon turned it into a big hole. Shortly after leaving the Kimberley you will see your shallow lake, above which often fly flocks of tens of thousands of flamingos.

Day 3. Pretoria
At noon, the train enters the historic colonial railway station in the nation’s capital – Pretoria. This is home of the Rovos Rail railway station, from where guests will go on a city tour and lunch.

Day 4 and 5. Personal Reserve Klaserie at the Kruger National Park
After checking into a luxury camp in the reserve Klaserie you set out on an afternoon game drive. In the morning of the fifth day guests also go into the bush to see the areas where wild dogs and cheetahs live. The adventurous day will end an evening safari.

Day 6. Private Reserve Klaserie at the Kruger National Park
Early in the last morning it is your choice to observe animals of your choice in the reserve, to around noon return to the train around noon, where you will go towards the border of Zimbabwe.

Day 7. Zimbabwe
After crossing the railway bridge across the river Limpopo Beit, the train enters Zimbabwe. Name of the border town of Beitbridge, where the train will stop, to be able to complete the formalities, it means just “Beit Bridge”. Your destination will now be the infamous Victoria Falls.

Day 8. Zimbabwe – Victoria Falls
The train arrives at the south bank of the Zambezi River in the town of Victoria Falls. Guests will be accommodated at the Victoria Falls where they will go on a sunset cruise. In the evening screenings of African dance.

Day 9. Zimbabwe – Victoria Falls
Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders, as they call natives of Victoria Falls, one of the world’s largest waterfalls, a huge crater in the ground, separating the countries Zimbabwe and the Zambezi. You can go hiking in the scenic spots, such as the Eastern Cataract, fly a helicopter or a small plane over a waterfall, rushing river to flow down the gullies or bungee jumping. In the afternoon, travelers leave the town of Victoria Falls and Livingstone will go to Zambia.

Day 10. Zambia
Drive through varied Zambia’s interesting avenues. The route is through the capital – Lusaka.

Day 11, 12 and 13. Zambia / Tanzania
For lunch, the train arrives in the vicinity of the waterfall Kundalila Falls. Then, the train will move toward the town of Kasama and in the observation car, you will be served tea and cake, admiring the scenery. Early in the afternoon the next day the train crosses the border with Tanzania. On day 13 of your trip train you will traverse the picturesque plains of Tanzania.

Day 14. Dar es Salaam
The train arrives to Dar es Salaam, where you say goodbye to you in a city full of cultural and architectural contrasts.

Rovos Rail travel costs: 12.400$ per person in a double Pullman compartment.
