In a close proximity to ancient city of Siena, the Relais La Suvera is situated. This luxurious hotel with its history going back to the Middle Ages is a former fortified castle and a residence of Pope Giuliano della Rovere. That is why one of the highlights of the resort is the museum with a collection of valuable portraits, statues, furnishings and documents, which present rich history of this place. All of 36 suites and rooms are also furnished with antique furniture coming straight from the collections of the families of the owners. Every suite has its own character. For instance in Duke of Genoa’s Suite guests will witness the splendor accompanying the Royal family of Piedmont with blue drapes, crown insignia and the furnishings once belonging to families of Savoy and Bavaria present. The other example is the Pope’s Suite dedicated to Julius II, which is equipped with furnishings and trappings going back to Renaissance times. But the museum and the historic furniture is not everything. Guests may also check the Oliviera Restaurant, which offers the sophisticated cuisine based on traditional recipes and local products. In the Lemon Bar light lunches and informal dinners are served. Except for that it’s a great place to try a glass of wine from the noble Tuscan grape variety. The visitors are also invited to purify their mind and body in the wellness area placed in the ancient medieval water storage cistern. Turkish bath, professional treatments and the prestigious Décleor aromatherapy products are available. There is also horse riding centre and two golf courses situated in a short distance from the hotel.
