MOROCCO – INFORMATION ABOUT THE COUNTRY

This charming country full of amazing views of contrasting colors, an alluring mixture of fragrances of spices or architecturally interesting cities, which after a walk invite you to a moment of rest over a glass of hot mint tea.

Morocco is one of the countries of the Maghreb, which lies partly in the Mediterranean, but in most of the Atlantic Ocean. Country band running through the Atlas Mountains is the dominant element of the Moroccan landscape.

Residing top Berbers have made a significant contribution – primarily through traditional couscous and tagine – very varied Moroccan cuisine, which enjoys great popularity recently in Europe. Kitchen of Morocco, where you can also find influences inspired by Spanish, French, Moorish and Middle East, combines the flavors of salty and sweet, abounding in citrus fruits, which are one of the main crops, and deliciously seasoned, but surprisingly mild fish dishes, lamb and poultry.

Unusual landscapes of Morocco often can be seen in movies, as the filmmakers themselves are very willing to pick this country for the shoot. Among the many images can mention for example the famous “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Alexander,” Oliver Stone’s “Gladiator” and “Kingdom of Heaven,” Ridley Scott. Perhaps many tourists also chose to go on a romantic trip to this country under the influence … “Casablanca”, which is one of the most famous love stories in the history of cinema.

Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and the biggest port of North Africa, is now a vibrant and modern metropolis – but invariably attractive for its wealth of monuments, overlooked by a huge greenish minaret of the mosque Hassan II, rising beautifully on the edge of a cliff.

Lying also on oceanfront, Rabat is the capital of the state and also the seat of government, and King Mohammed VI. As the residence of the monarchs of the city is included in the account of the former royal seat of successive dynasties, creating so-called “four royal towns.” A bit more inland lie the next two royal cities of Fez, which is considered the oldest of towns and mainstay of the past, and nearby, the historic and popular city of Meknes. Heading south, it is necessary to mention zawitać the last of the royal cities – Marrakech, a former center of caravan and captivating today with it’s almost fairytale oriental atmosphere.

Exciting expedition to the stunning monuments of the splendor of Morocco may end or begin in Agadir, the most famous resort of the country, with 300 days a year of sunshine.
