Highlights of north India with Goa – 15 days

Day 1. Delhi
In the morning guests will arrive in New Delhi. Indias capital, with a thousand years of history, is a city of
contrasts that combines a unique ambience of the ancient and the modern. After a short organizational meeting, guests will be transferred to their hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure and in the evening guests will witness a Bollywood musical programme in the Kingdom of Dreams Indias answer to Broadway.

Day 2. Delhi
Full day tour of old and New Delhi. In old Delhi guests will drive past Chandni Chowk, a crowded bazaar, and the Red Fort, built in 1648 with red sandstones. It will be followed by a rickshaw ride in the lanes and through the spice market. Later, guests will visit Jama Masjid (Mosque), the largest and one of the most magnificent mosques in India, and Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi (Father of the Nation). After lunch guests will continue their sightseeing in
New Delhi where they will visit Qutab Minar, a Sikh temple and drive past the Parliament House, India Gate and President Estate.

Day 3. Delhi – Varanasi
In the morning guests will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Varanasi. After arriving at the hotel the day will be free to relax.

Day 4. Varanasi
Before sunrise, guests will be transferred to the Ghats in Varanasi, riverfront steps leading to the banks of the Ganges River, for a boat cruise to see the sunrise and witness the local people worshipping and bathing on the Ghats. Later, guests will visit various Hindu Temples and walk through the narrow lanes of the city. They will return to the hotel for breakfast and spend the rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch, they will go on a short excursion to Sarnath where Buddha chose to deliver his first sermon, after attaining Nirvana. The only institute of its kind in the world, imparting education in the Tibetan language, it was established by the Dalai Lama in 1971. The institute has a rare collection of Buddhist texts, Tibetan manuscripts, and other journals. In the evening, guests will go to the bank of the Ganges to watch fascinating Aarti performance – prayers offered to the holy river.

Day 5. Varanasi – Khajuraho
In the morning guests will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Khajuraho. After arrival, they will have some free time in the afternoon and the evening to relax.

Day 6. Khajuraho – Jhansi
The first half of this day will be devoted to a sightseeing tour of the temples of Khajuraho constructed between 950 and 1050 A.D. and considered the “high point” of Indian architectural genius in the Medieval period. Originally there were 85 temples, of which only 22 still exist. In the afternoon guests will be transferred to Jhansi railway station from where they will depart by Shatabdi Express train for Agra.

Day 7. In Agra
In the morning, guests will visit the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the World, built by Shah Jahan (Mughal Emperor) for his beloved wife Mumtaz. Later, they will visit Agra Fort, a masterpiece of design and construction. Free time in the afternoon.

Day 8. Agra – Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
In the morning guests will drive to Jaipur and on their way, they will visit Fatehpur Sikri, the City of Victory),
a complex of monuments and temples including one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid. After coming to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan called Pink City of India, they will check-in at their hotel and
spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 9. Jaipur
After an early breakfast, guests will visit the Amer Fort. They will have the unique experience of traveling on an elephants back to and from the top of the hill on which the fort is situated. They will also visit Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. In the afternoon, they will continue their sightseeing and visit the City Palace, the principal residence of the ruling family, Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory and a local bazaar.

Day 10. Jaipur Mumbai – Goa
In the morning guests will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Mumbai from where they will fly to Goa, the smallest, but at the same time the richest state in India.

Days 11. 14. Goa
These days will be spent at leisure.

Day 15. Goa
Transfer to the airport to board a flight home.

The price of the programme depends on the number of participants, the date of the journey and the availability of hotels.
