DESERT RHINO CAMP, DAMARALAND

Among the rocky hills and plains, covered with spurge and age-old welwishami, there is an area inhabited by black rhinos. At the heart of this area, occupying an area of ​​over 400,000 hectares pitched camp in the vicinity of which these remarkable animals roam freely, forming the largest group of representatives of this species in the world, living beyond the borders of the national park. Part of the fees collected from residents of the camp is intended to protect the extremely rare animals.

In the camp there are eight double rooms, spacious tents with bathrooms, including two for honeymooners. All have been designed in a traditional African style. In the camp’s tents, even dining room and a place for meetings for residents of the camp.

At any time of the day and often at night, they can watch the unusual, often endemic species: giraffes, ostriches, leopards, lions, cheetahs, brown and spotted hyena, Hartmann mountain zebras, antelopes South African or oryksy. The area of ​​the camp is also home to a large herd of elephants and the very rare black rhinos.

The life of these majestic animals can be observed tracking them while hiking and traveling in an open jeep, both during the day and after sunset. Among the African wilderness, guests can also have a picnic. However, you should always follow the instructions of experienced guides. The area is also home to many species of rare birds – so be sure to bring your binoculars.
