Lord Howe Island is a small volcanic island in the Tasman Sea, located about 600 km. northeast of Sydney. It’s highest point is Mount Gower – an 875 meter island which was discovered in 1788. Today, it has only about 300 permanent residents. On the island there are two national parks, which occupy 70% of its surface. In 1982, together with the coastal islands it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Capella Lodge is situated on Lord Howe and ranks among the top hotels in Australia and Oceania. Located in the exclusive group of Luxury Lodges of Australia. From the hotel stretches a spectacular view of the harsh rocky peaks and the subtropical forest. The project can be called organic – many pieces of wood, and the whole structure blends in with the natural surroundings. Capella Lodge has access to a beautiful sandy beach. Gourmet quality breakfast is offered to guests, delicious dinners consisting of three courses, selected wines, snacks and drinks served at sunset and a variety of soft drinks.
