BELMOND ROYAL SCOTSMAN – CLASSICAL ROUTE, 5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS

This is the most popular tour in Scotland, where the first section runs along the east coast to Keith, then the western coast of the picturesque Plockton. The return journey to Edinburgh passes through Inverness and Perth.

Day 1. Edinburgh – Keith
In the early afternoon departure from Waverley Station in Edinburgh. The Royal Scotsman train heads north to the Firth of Forth, which exceeds the famous Forth Railway Bridge – built in the late nineteenth century. Today it is considered one of the masterpieces of engineering of the Victorian era. While the train could travel across the land once owned by the Kingdom of Fife, tea will be served. A further route will lead through the town of Arbroath, Montrose and Aberdeen to reach out to Keith. In the evening, enjoy dinner.

Day 2. Keith – Plockton
During the train trip from Keith breakfast will be served, the road will be led north to Inverness. The tour will be led amid the scenic landscapes of the Kyle of Lochalsh, in the meantime lunch will be given. In the village of Plockton stop and enjoy free time for sightseeing and exploring the area. Worth seeing are especially a colony of seals and beautiful views of the Isle of Skye and the Applecross Mountains. In the evening, return to the train, dinner and come to Kyle of Lochalsh.

Day 3. Kyle of Lochalsh – Carrbridge
After breakfast, you can visit Eilean Donan before the train moves again on the road north to Inverness. The trail will lead to the south, where there will be the opportunity to explore the romantic Ballindalloch Castle. Spend a night on board the private railway Boat of Garden. After a formal dinner, Scottish Highlanders tell many interesting stories associated with this region.

Day 4. Kingussie – Dunkeld
After breakfast excursion to Rothiemurchus, where you can choose from a variety of leisure activities: fishing, shooting at the target area tours with a guide or sitting by the fireplace in the hotel Drumintoul watch the beautiful scenery of the property.

Back on the train in Kingussie, lunch served during the trip south to Dunkled. Exploring the possibility of Glamis Castle.

Late in the afternoon back to the train station in Perth for dinner. Overnight on board in Dundee.

Day 5. Dundee – Edinburgh
After breakfast, the train ends on the Edinburgh Waverley station.
